A Little Bit of Frustration...

So this month has been one of those month's where living in Germany has been a challenge, and everything seems like a fight. The frustration is starting to get to me a little bit, and today was no exception. I was SO excited when I woke up because we were going to buy a Christmas tree and going to go to our first Christmas Market. So we got the kids loaded up got everything ready and as SOON as we got out of the driveway, the back windshield wiper stopped working and the radio just shut off.

Now, before I continue, let me first remind everyone that the Honda is still currently broken and waiting for the $400 compressor we just had to order after our awful day in Landstuhl when it busted on the way to our appointment. For those of you that were involved or who heard that story, that's a whole other can of worms. SO, Aaron got out of the car and starts trying to assess the problem, playing with fuses and such. So we start driving and two second later the check engine light comes on. No Christmas trees or markets in our future today.

So, now we are down two cars, and out who knows how much more money. I guess Christian (our mechanic) will tell us on Monday. Hopefully the compressor for the Honda comes in on Monday so we can have one fully functional car. And for the love, hopefully nothing else goes wrong.

I guess I'm even more frustrated because when we came here, in terms of cars, we were in a pretty good place with the Focus. It was a newer car, almost paid off, with a pretty low payment, decent priced insurance, and INCREDIBLE gas mileage. Like 30 mpg on a bad day. 40 on a good day. And then out of no where one day we get run over by a landrover and have two older vehicles that have issues, mostly just because of their age. I'm not one to go out and buy a brand new car, because I can't justify having a $500-$600 car payment. Not to mention car insurance over here is highway robbery. I wish $25,000 would just fall out of the sky so we could buy a new car. But, I doubt that will happen anytime soon. And we have a settlement in the works from the accident, but since my treatment for my foot is ongoing, there can't be anything done until analysis and treatment is final. It's so frustrating.

So, I guess my point is, tis' the season, and good-bye Christmas money, hello new car parts. I just wish we could catch a break! Seriously. Since August we've been having car issues, and it just hasn't stopped. Here's to hoping....
