Daily Dose: July 31, 2012

Today was a day of few pictures. We were so super busy with VBS and then I was pretty exhausted afterwards thanks to my bum foot and my accident with a plug and my heel last night. Let's just say it was 8 times worse than a lego or a hot wheel. But, after naps before they spent the evening outside, I snapped a few of them "waking up".
Reading babies.

Jacob has been using Aaron's kindle to look up Bible verses. He was finding ones he loved for his prayer journal he made at VBS today.

The legs of a real boy. The bad bruise on his left leg is from him falling on the stairs and it scraping all the way down. That has nothing to do with being a real boy, but everything to do with getting clumsy genes from his Mommy. Sorry, buddy.

I hear Joshua singing down the stairs immediately after he woke up. I got my camera ready and this is what I witnessed as soon as he turned the corner. Singing, dancing with his hands in the air, swinging doggy, and somewhere along the lines lost his shorts during nap time. LoL. Love the way this boy wakes up with singing and dancing.

Sarah was trying to break into that water bottle!

Annoyed with the camera already. It's rare to get a photo of all three of them together. My loves.

Almost Wednesday here in Guam. Aug. 1. Here's to a SLOW month, and enjoying my whole family being together. Cherish the time friends.

Love,
Kayla

Daily Dose: July 30, 2012

So I missed yesterday. We were SO. BUSY. all day yesterday I didn't even have time to sit down and edit something old. Church, run errands, Mommy went to go help set up VBS then went to shoot a maternity session then home to edit some sessions I'm behind on. Had to work with no play yesterday. But not today!
Today was our first day of VBS. Even though I don't have any photos of that, we had a LOT of fun. I'm a crew leader this year so JoJo & Sarah were in the nursery and preschool area and Cubby is participating, but they ALL had a blast. And were tuckered out. So after we got home close to two, it as naps and then lounging around. Good days, these are.

After naps Sarah wanted to share a pillow and snuggle with Cubby.

Silly girl.

This is a terrible photo. However, I could NOT leave it out. It was an accidental catch and is blurry because right as I was trying to take a photo of Jacob, Sarah flipped to go the other way and kicked him RIGHT in the face. With JoJo's crocs on. Sad, but kind of hilarious. This is what goes on in my house.

JoJo practicing his letter. Upside down at that. I have a talented child.

I asked him to smile and this is what he gave me. Can you tell how completely thrilled he is!? :)

Cubby laughing at Sarah.

I like to entitle this "Retaliation". He laughed at her, so she whacked him in the head with a flip flop.

Her sad face with the flip flop after I told her she shouldn't hit.

This is how we play in our house. Yup, cardboard paper towel tubes. Makes a sweet noise when you talk through it! Best part, she figured it out all on her own!

Handsome Cubby.

Writing upside down is intense. But look at that great pen grip! Go JoJo!

Sweaty mohawk baby. But at least we have hair!

Mohawk!

Hopefully I won't slack off and miss days anymore. But here's to a happy Monday to all those just starting out your week!

Kayla

Daily Dose: July 28, 2012

Holy lots of photos day! I had two sessions today and still managed to take more photos of my family in one day than I have in ages! And they are so. much. fun. These guys rock my world!

JoJo came running down from the playroom with these on his fingers saying "I'm a monster, Raaawr!" And I just saw in the background Sarahlynne is waving at me! Love that!

Doing his monster finger tap...I'm a monster! Cutest monster I've ever seen!

One of Jacob's favorite lunches {and Sarah and JoJo's too!} Carrots, CHERRIES & mac n cheese with hot dogs!

Poor Ellie. Aaron made her rabies dog with whip cream.

Licking it off.

Making peace. Kind of. I don't think she was too pleased.

Boonie stompin'. In the yard. yea!

Hair! I love the way she carries around her glasses!

There are really no words for this. But this pretty much sums up JoJo's personality.

This is her "Chhhhheeeese" face!

Sweet children.

Laughing at Daddy.

Monkey face!

Examining something or other. Outdoor baby, for sure.

She looks so chunky! This is her "daddy's burning something or grilling" chair/spot!

Wiping off the wet grass.

Today's banana bunch.

Pretending like I know how to shoot still life/detail shots. There's a reason my specialty is people!

Lots o' bananas.

Cubby learned to ride on two wheels in Germany but got a little rusty in his 2 month hiatus during the moving transition. he's back at it now! And yes, he wears a motorcycle helmet. And?

This is where I shot a family session this evening. Tarague Beach. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island is on base. We are so blessed.

Feeling overwhelmed with the blessings I've been giving today. What blessings have you been given?

Love,
Kayla

Daily Dose: July 27, 2012

The majority of our day today was actually spent with several photog friends and their kiddos just playing, talking and relaxing at my house, however, oddly enough, I didn't really get any photos of that fun! So these evening, before getting ready to head out to dinner and church, I did something I don't often do. I handed my camera over to Aaron! I call him the paparazzi when I let him use my camera mostly because he has no idea what he's doing. I set the manual settings for him before I give it to him, but he moves the camera all around and shoots like 30 photos. Click, click, click, click, click. Basically sprays and prays he gets a good one for me so I don't give him a hard time! LoL! But today, he did good. And actually got photos of myself that I kind of love *gasp*! Way to go Aaron. And so again, don't get use to it, but even I am featured in the daily dose today! :)

Cool, baby, cool!

Aviators!

Lov my girl.

Silly JoJoBean!

My mini me in looks and actions. What can I say? We are freakin' awesome!

I have photo bombers in my family! Jacob! And as a side note, can you tell this is one of JoJo's favorite faces?

Sarahlynne wanted to try sticking out her tongue too. Excuse my ridiculous looking tongue. Looking ridiculous just comes with being a mom, I think.

Rock on!

I love silly times with my kids. And I love that Aaron captured these. It's not often I'm in photos, so to have a few fun ones, makes my heart happy! Happy Friday all!

Love,
Kayla

Daily Dose: July 26, 2012

So today was one of those days I didn't pick up my camera. We were home most of the day and I was working on unpacking {yes, still} and folding massive amounts of laundry. I just really didn't get time to pick up my camera and it was a day the kids were all. over. the. place. Seriously. I probably couldn't have gotten a decent photo if I tried. So, here are a few from probably a week and a half or so ago that I haven't posted! Hooray for beginning to catch up on the mass of amounts of photos I have on my computers!

I'm pretty sure she gets more beautiful every day.

Book baby. I'd expect no less.

Big boy book lover. So proud of my reader.

JoJo checking out the space book with Cubby.

Just reading.

Wait! Cubby has a book too!

I bought this piano for a photo prop. Sarahlynne has confiscated it for the time being.

This is the story of teaching the most uncoordinated 6 year old in the world to catch a baseball.

Seriously concentrated.

And this is what happens. Moves glove. Turns to the side. Gets hit in the chest.

Shakes it off and is ready to try again. I can't say it got much better after that, though...

JoJo practicing a batting stance.

One word: Trouble.

So glad this is becoming a habit. Feels good sharing my own kids and capturing them as they grow, even if some days are photos from a week ago or three months ago. Photos are so precious....

Love,
Kayla
